Summer Smoothie Recipies
Tropical Tornado Smoothie
This is a healthy one that tastes good and cools you down at the same time. Enjoy the health boost too!
This smoothie supplies manganese for your bones, and it quenches your thirst naturally. It uses coconut water the healthy liquid from the core of the coconut. It’s full of electrolytes and has potassium. All of these things will keep you from getting dehydrated in the summer heat.
You’ll Need:
One cup of pineapple (chunked)
¾ cup carrots (grated)
½ cup coconut water (cold)
½ cup ice (cubes are fine)
2 Tablespoon coconut flakes (toast them first)
2 Teaspoons of chia seed (whites are best)
2 Teaspoons of agave (for healthy sweetness)
This summer smoothie is exotic, but it is also very delicious. The whole gang loves it.
Honeydew and Cucumber Smoothie
This is one cool summer smoothie recipe that is perfect for a hot day relaxing in a hammock. It involved freezing the melon first, so count on a couple of hours before you can mix it all together.
Serves three big smoothies!
You will need:
1 honeydew melon (medium, cubed)
1 cucumber (peel it first and slice it)
1 cup yogurt (I prefer plain Greek style)
One half of a lemon, juiced
Fresh mint, chopped up
One Tbsp. of brown sugar
Directions:
First peel the honeydew melon and chop it into chunks that you can freeze in the freezer (takes around two hours.)
Once the melon cubes are frozen, simply through all the ingredients in a blender process it all on “pulse” mode for half a minute. Then hit “mix” and blend the smoothie for a few seconds until it is nice and smoothie.
Yum.
